To tell you the truth...
We love being designers. We love working hard to create something meaningful, beautiful, powerful, but we try not to take ourselves too seriously. When we're not in front of our computers, you might find us in the kitchen experimenting, laser-cutting acrylic monsters, out drinking a good German beer (Augustiner!), or at some other dot on the globe. We believe it's all important and it's all by design.
Jason Mannix
A graphic designer and typographer from Richmond, VA, Jason moved to New York to be closer to the Mets. He joined the staff at Addison and while producing annual reports and developing client identities, he fell in love with typography. After three years, he became a senior designer at Doyle Partners under the creative direction of Stephen Doyle and most recently, Jason was awarded a Chancellor Fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to research and design a new typeface inspired by traditional German Blackletter. He has worked with a range of clients including General Mills, The U.S. Green Building Council, The Cooper Union and Johnson & Johnson and his work has appeared in Wired and Vanity Fair.
Lindsay Mannix
An industrial designer, in-house photographer, and 2D renderer, Lindsay is all about bringing things to life. She's worked with Axe, Calphalon, Tumi and Vitra and has designed all sorts ranging from carpets to clothing and quite a few cooking tools. Her work has been seen in various industry publications, including most recently, Taschen's 'The Package Design Book' released in 2010.
Gavin Wade
Graphic designer, illustrator, multi-media designer, LEGO-enthusiast, doodler, Gavin has always had a hard time choosing a speciality. While attending James Madison University, Gavin studied Media Arts and Design, focusing on film and video production. After college, Gavin began working as an illustrator and art director with the US Intelligence Community. Gavin is a connoisseur of simple, meaningful logos and impactful brands. He recently created the first official brand for National Reconnaissance Office and the brand for the Intelligence Community (IC) annual media awards program, the Icy Awards. Several of Gavin's designs have even been launched into space; strange but true.
