Enzian is the fruit of a yearlong research fellowship sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. We set out to design an original typeface inspired by the beautiful form and complex persona of Blackletter script in Germany. The result is a versatile Opentype family that is humble but robust, mysterious yet accessible, contemporary while staying true to its calligraphic roots. We feel quite honored that Enzian has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Type Design by the Type Directors Club.
